Trying to experiment with lorien pacifists. Comparing to starting with vanish, it is *much* more forgiving earlier on; crebains are no longer "welp now you die", I have been able to get past the early parts every time. However it seems like once you get around 400' it's worse because lorien is hard to use on awake packs and wargs are awful. Also a problem is putting monsters to sleep in corridors and doorways which is tricky to get around.

I think I'm starting to understand how to use lorien a bit more now... before I was using it as a emergency thing and that doesn't really work. My game strategy perhaps needs rethinking a bit, I need to figure out what I need to get for warg depth for this to be successful.

It's a more fun start than vanish, a huge amount less frustrating, I think it might be a bit slower in terms of turncount though.

Yes I'm finding packs the big problem with this, it's impossible to sleep them when they are constantly waking each other up

Sounds similar to my experience. I remember deliberately holding off on Lorien for a little sometimes to avoid putting them to sleep in corridors. And with packs unless you have very high Song you're often better singing Silence to try to avoid them noticing you in the first place, I think.

The early-mid game is pretty interesting in terms of the build order with this kind of character. By the time you have Listen and Sprinting and Woven Themes you're a bit more in control.

I seem to remember that Lorien works well around corners -- if they are out of line of sight to you, they are less likely to become alert and they don't yell to wake each other up. As with most stealth builds, Listen helps here. I agree that sleeping monsters in corridors is a problem.

Scatha: Good point on using silence. I have been using it but not enough. I think what's working against me a bit is that I'm trying to get as low a turncount as possible, I should do some games in which I take my time.

half: Ah, I did notice that a couple times but I wasn't sure if that was actually happening or not, good to know.
