Experimental character trying to get rapid fire very early, seemed to work well, but I went through arrows extremely quickly even with careful shot. Hit a web trap with zero strength, no chance of survival.

In my experience, racing for any high-level ability other than Vanish is too brittle to survive on. This one was especially risky, since you had to invest points in Smithing to make a compatible bow. (Might be neat to try this with Feanor -- might be six of one, half dozen of the other kind of thing.)

I was hoping, for example, that rushing to Majesty or Song of Lorien would make for an interesting game, but they're pretty much useless at the minimum levels of skill required to get them.

I guess you never know until you try! :D

Hmm, some of my best (but ultimately unsuccessful) pacifist attempts have come from rushing to Song of Lorien at the start. It should work in a scale-free way, since you're comparing your Song to monster Will.

Majesty doesn't work in that way, though. Perhaps it should, but I can't see an obvious elegant mechanic.

Yes, I think Song of Lorien is doable -- with a Sindar of Doriath from memory. I think mine was slain by wargs or werewolves. You get Song of Silence on the way, and can choose between the two as you require. Woven Themes is an obvious choice from there.
