This is my first posted character. This is my most successful character - that yet lives.

Have a bunch of weapons on the floor. A Greatsword of Final Rest, A Spider Slayer Battle Axe and the Spear of Boldog.

I'm keeping the Great Axe, because its the first one I've gotten. The Battle Axe that I keep is not a slayer, but it has an extra side (3d5) and it's light as Battle Axes go.

I intend to carry around 3 Cloaks until I have to choose one. I am really looking for a better Long Sword, but I like the one that I have pretty well.

They are three very good cloaks, though I think the Shadow Cloak is the weakest of the three (that darkness effect is really quite bad, especially with such a small light radius to start with). I'd keep the current Battle Axe, as I think an extra side is worth more than Spider Slaying. That said, if it is only a swap weapon, then sometimes having a specialised one is a good thing.

Your Longsword is good, but it is a pity it doesn't weigh 3 lb or more, as you are not getting full advantage from your strength, meaning you are just doing 2d8 damage -- the same as with a 2d5 3lb sword. Though being a bit lighter does allow for slightly better critical hits. (see the combat section in the manual for a full description).

Are the herbs of terror working for you? I would have thought that your Will is probably high enough that they won't frighten you very often, and thus you won't get the speed boost. I'd just eat them now in a safe place for the food value, and free up the slot.

Seems like you're doing pretty well. Lovely cloak collection, though I'd agree that you may not be best placed for the shadow cloak.

Your melee might actually be high enough that the battle axe could be better than your current longsword as a primary weapon. You'd have -4 to hit relatively, but you'd get an extra die of damage when you did.

Scatha could be right about the axe, and remember that extra damage matters more than it first appears since monsters' protection is subtracted from it. 3d8 might be about twice as much net damage as 2d8. Then again, the Longsword will sometimes do 3d8 with a critical...

For me, Sil is a Masterpiece. I am having the kind of fun with Sil that I had when I was 14. There are very very few games that have done that for me.

And I did not know that the Herbs of Terror would stop working with higher Will. But I do now :)

Great! I'm really glad when people get so much out of it.

Creeping Horror. Critical hit me and I was dead in one blow. Note to self. 24 hp is not sufficient safety net. I was very brash when this occurred. Using the Staff of Foes would have saved me (I would have known what was in the area.) This is a grim moment. She had an awesome kit.
