The news update on this site tempted me to check out Sil. Enjoying it far more than most other variants I've tried, and slowly beginning to get the hang of things. This is my best game so far, not that that's saying much...

Tip: You need A LOT more Evasion. An evasion that low means the monsters can attack you more, and critically wound you more often! If you want to work with Stealth characters, I would increase Evasion first, then increase Stealth later. :)

I think it might be possible to succeed with a stealthy assassin with no evasion (although the first seven points, for Sprinting, are very tempting), but Hugo is right that you're at least making life much more of a challenge for yourself by not investing there.

By the way: you may not have noticed, but you won't get your Assassination bonus if your attack is a Charge.

Anyhow, have fun!

I don't think that you could win without some stealth, at least not consistently. I've found that you need a base melee and evasion to deal with monsters that WILL spot you the one time that your stealth fails to work. I tend to wait on the stealth....but I tend to have a template that works well for my style and maybe you would be better off just trying your own thing.

Fendell: You might like to see some of HallucinationMushroom's characters for examples of how one can succeed without stealth.
