Now, this is is a seriously Uber powerful Elf, with 21 Melee and 16 Evasion at only 400ft (current max depth), at just under 8,500 turns. I found a Bastard Sword (3,3d3) [+1] {special} at 400ft....Must be either Anglachel or Anguirrel. But damn, I'm not even halfway though the game yet. I better not mess this up!

It turns out that it was the Bastard Sword 'Anglachel.' Now, I really have to be careful. Moving along, I'm working on increasing the Perception so that I get Lore-master ASAP.

I'm confused: why switch back away from Anglachel? As the danger applies even when it's in your pack, it seems like you might as well get the benefit ...

I switched away from Anglachel because I was going for highest damage output possible, provided by the Battle Axe of Orc Slaying with the 3d5 dice. I should have stayed with Anglachel, even with the Danger, after all. :/

Death happened very quickly. I decided to turn away from this Creeping Horror at one corridor end. At the other side was... a Shadow Spider. Unfortunately, I was not actively wearing the Great Helm of True Sight, because I wanted to get the highest Evasion possible. But then again, the True Sight would outweigh the Evasion penalty. I should have known. That was another bad move, on my part.

So, after getting blinded, I switched to the True Sight Helm. But, it was already too late. And then, I got stuck between a Shadow Spider and a Creeping Horror = Game Over.

Why didn't you chug a quickness pot? At least it gives you a bit more of a chance :)
