Trying the 3-3-5-3 setup again...with some success.

I'm really making progress with this...Found a Set of Gauntlets of Power (+1) and a Ring of Dexterity (+1), making my stats like 4-4-5-3, which looks pretty good. I had a hectic time with Cat warriors and Shadow spiders in the 600-650ft territory. So, I decided it's time to hang around at 550ft for a while. I really need to a source of True Sight, sooner or later. Otherwise, it's time to put points onto Perception.

Seriously a formidable force. I'm just about ready to take on Morgoth any time... for the 6th time!

Dropped by the Throne Room...once again. Went towards the West area, and fought off the hilarious Troll guards, Ancient emerald serpents, and Vampire lords. It wasn't too bad. I acquired enough experience to get Subletly, a good move on my part. But, the Easterling spies were MAD annoying. So annoying that thanks to them, Morgoth managed to find me in the area. First thing I did: quaff !CON. I pummeled at Morgoth a couple of times, enough to knock the crown off. Getting stirred up, Morgoth wreaked havoc as usual. So, I switched to the 'Delmereth' and after 2-3 tries, I got the FIRST Silmaril OUT. After that, I switched to the special Mattock and fled the Throne Room immediately.

That right! I just managed to free ONE Silmaril, at least, this time. Time to get the HELL out NOW!!

Almost there! Although most monsters are a pushover, Morgoth chasing me floor after floor is truly a scary experience! I'm at 50ft now. Alright, I better not mess this up.

At last, I finally won the game for the first time! God damn!

By the way, after killing the big bad 'C,' it wasn't over yet... An Ancient Sapphire Serpent somehow spotted me, and breathed frost. I don't remember if it did any damage. I took cover and lured it over to my area. I charged it and killed it on the spot. After that, it was over. Good lord! I swear RNG really wanted to catch me, this time I was fortunate and survive, and got the chance to win the game.

There you have it. I beat the game!

Interestingly, I managed to beat Sil without a single point on Archery, Stealth, Perception, Smithing, or Song; hence totally melee-powered character dependent on Melee, Evasion, & Will. To be honest, the only way I was ever to survive the initial onslaught encounter with Morgoth and the terrifying on-the-chase events is because of my high CON [currently at 7; without !CON]. If it weren't for that, I would NOT make it out of the Throne. I would like to thank Fendell Orcbane for his advice on the CON and everyone else for their support and comments!

How good did you find Listen when you didn't have any points in Perception?

The 'Listen' ability was pretty good, even without added points onto Perception. It was helpful in keeping me out of danger, even though it increased danger, ironically.
