Admittedly followed ewan's lead, but with charge to make the earlier game easier. I'm not actually sure if I'm going to have time to finish this one before the comp is up!

Anyway... do I wear the power gloves and go rapid attack as ewan did? Going to have to hope for some more !Str if so to make the most of it.

I have to admit defeat. I so nearly had him. Got him down to one *, but then they started going up again and I realised I'd run out of voice and sharpness had stopped. Then my only !Str wore off and between Morgoth and the Unrelenting Horror attacking me at the same time I didn't have a chance.

In hindsight, if I'd realised I could kill the Horror I would have done that before taking on Morgoth and secondly I've got to watch my voice points - another silly mistake at the last...

So close! The consistency of your attempts to catch ewan is astounding. (And to show for it you have a clear plurality of top ten places in the competition.) About how long does each of these runs take you?

Quaffing Miruvor _before_ you run out of voice also saves you the turn you otherwise need to start singing again.

Miruvor restores voice? I'm embarrassed to say I hadn't realised that!

I guess it took around 3.5-4 hours.

Oh, I assumed too much: I guessed that's why you'd quaffed it at the end. You can see in your final messages:

(Of course Potions of Voice also restore voice, without the other good effects of Miruvor.)

Sorry to see you fall short; and that's impressive real-world speed. I would bet that I probably take 5-6 times as long.

Were you fighting V from a pit? That would also be a possible problem in doing final damage - but I know well the terrible feeling when he goes back *up* in health :-(.

I am impressed that you slew Ungoliant while wearing Luthien!

The problem with playing fast is that I also play sloppy. I had no idea I was in a pit until I say my dump on the ladder. I also didn't know that pits could be created under you as I certainly didn't step into it - or perhaps I was knocked into it?

This char could certainly have beaten V if I'd paid a little more attention during the fight. I also suspect I was fighting without !Quickness for a large portion of it. At least I remembered to sing sharpness this time...

I may have taken off Luthien for the Ungoliant fight as I'd kept the stealth cloak incase of darkness situations, however I had a light radius of 5 even with Luthien on (though I guess I should have swapped to the "Con from "BlessedRealm for V).
