Trying this again. Found a couple very nice pieces of gear so far. Unwavering voice is really really nice for longer engagements with slaying - almost makes up for the +4 to hit smithing crutch I'm used to.

Speaking of smithing, I at 300' and just found 2 forges, 5 charges worth total. But not enough xp to really use them the way I want to. Thinking very hard about jeweler anyway - I can probably ID the nasties, get +2 to hit and regen, which is *probably* worth it.

Was blindly running from Uldor, got stopped by some Sulrakuar, guessed wrong on what kind of sword I had (apparently it was glowing from the spider just out of my sight - I'd hoped it was slay rakuar). Used all my healing and rage. Forgot to spend my xp, which might or might not have made a difference. I could hit them with slaying up, or hurt them with sharpness, so if I had thought to take woven themes, or even just upped melee/evasion, I might have stood a chance.

This new version/competition character is teaching me a good bit about how to actually survive without my favorite toys, but I'm not really very good at it yet.
