Such monsters can indeed be a big problem for nimble characters. My guess is that a couple more points in perception would make finding the way out a bit easier, though this time was more a case of enemies coming from both directions. I do like the corridor/room dynamic in Sil, where corridors are a real blessing and a curse, rather than just a blessing. Listen would obviously help a lot too.

It is interesting how low your skill points were for that depth, but how high your skill-granting stats were.
