I'm getting worried about not having a digger. I know Kemenrauko are native to 800ft, so I probably don't need to worry until I go to 700ft, but I think there's a chance of meeting them at 650ft, which is why I'm hesitating to go down. I'm not really a smith, and I'm well ahead of where I need to be, so I might press down to 650 then hop up and down until I find a digger.

If you're aware of the dangers you can probably descend safely: you'll just need to be careful in managing Kemenraukar and Grotesques (don't wander around the level with one of the latter following you).
