First character to find an artifact... I've been stuck on 350' forever, wading through dozens of baddies, but I have a thick enough skin that it's hard for them to cut me :)

Stuck between a rock and a hard place. I got trapped between some bat-thing that was wrapped in darkness (still don't know what that was), and a shadow mold.

I tried taking Keen Senses to help me out, but that evidently doesn't work the way I thought it does :)

If I'd known the birch staff was Majesty, I would have used it, but as it was, most of my staves were un ID'ed.

Best run so far, will only get better from here.

What's up with that artifact arrow 'Dailir'? lol

Nevermind, I looked at the dungeon map and it actually was blocked. There was an enchanted forge on this floor, too :)

Them's the breaks! The real thing that killed me was a shadow bat, btw. How pathetic is that, I kill legions of orcs and trolls, only to be offed by a bat and a mold :|

I had a situation that was even worse, I had a character that could dish out 3d13 with a Greatsword, with +17 Melee, and +15 Evasion, and yet got killed by a Shadow Spider. :(

Keen Senses was a good thought, but there was just too much unnatural darkness for it to penetrate. It is particularly nasty when multiple dark-creating monsters are found together, because the shadows thicken. If you'd combined Keen Senses with Inner Light and a brass lantern I think you would have been able to see them.

This was the first floor with a flask of oil on it, and I only found it after I died, so... :)

I thought Inner Light was a garbage ability, but this incident shows me that perhaps that is not the case!
