I bought a bunch of vampiric weapons when shop scumming. Now, I think I'll try them out. Anubis will have to wait for later for when I power dive in Angband (with small levels). For the top of the lair, it is not so good. But a pair of vampiric weapons makes any form of healing or double resistance unnecessary. Pretty sweet ... Damage output is down from 1800 to 1050, though. I could use those genji gloves now to help a bit with these heavy weapons, but I'll need to wait for Terror Mask before I can swap.

Yup, *Co is so nice for a 'zerker. I was just about to grab 6 !Enlightenment so I could head to the bottom of the lair when I *identified* this guy. Wow! And it fits so nice with the rest of my equipment. OK, my AC is a crappy 85 but oh well ... Super damage is on at 2130 per round. And I haven't even found Terror Mask yet!

BTW, I more thoroughly investigated Genji. Its worth about 4-7% additional accuracy depending on which weapons I am using, but I can hardly stand to lose the AC bonus from Fingolfin at the moment.

Now, I just want a couple good rings of speed and I would Trump down for Oberon!

First trip down to DL72 of the lair netted +11 and +7 speed rings back to back. Trump to DL98 of Angband and then Oberon. The Serpent was tough! He was fighting something, so by the time he came to me there were a dozen or so Cyberdemons trailing him! I just massacred and quaffed !*Healing*. I couldn't get a chance to use !Healing as there was just too much going on, with Tiamat, Jormungand the Midgard Serpent, and the aforementioned cyberdemon army! When I killed the big boss, I instantly retired :D

re: Genji: For my zerkers it always felt as if I hit a lot more with them, no matter what the numbers might have said. Could have been my imagination or maybe the numbers from the sword master don't calculate in dual wielding penalties.
