I always end up scrolling past the options to dump a character to a file after a character death, so I figured I might as well upload this guy now. Took a break from sorcerers, and am trying a mindcrafter. This guy is doing fairly well, level 40 and just got psycho spear down to 18% fail, or 8% if I swap the wis amulet in and cover acid with a spell (kind of risky). I figure I'll keep that option open for certain uniques. Anyway, maybe this guy will get somewhere.

Well, doing a bit better since the last update. Got some good kit, all resist holes are covered except blindness, oddly enough. Not a problem with ESP. Just got 45th, not sure how The World works, not really interested in experimenting yet. Lost to a Shambler in the Arena (my farthest in there) but thankfully arena death just kicks you out of the place permanently. Going to do the Old Castle shortly, and am diving in the main dungeon around 2600' or so right now. Got a vault to clear on the level I'm on, hopefully it won't be the death of me. :)

Current update. Couldn't play more than an hour and a half today, but got in a little more last night. This character is doing fairly well, just wiped out the Doom Quest in the wooded town with all the summoning monsters. 1000 hit points is a nice change from my sorcerers, who never have more than half of that. And being able to get more than one attack per round--I'm spoiled. My melee attacks do more (if they hit) than my best spell, and my AC is high enough that I can go toe to toe with uniques or monsters which would wax my sorcerer in a round or two. So, some hope for this guy. Should get some play time in tomorrow.

Well, this guy lived for another 45 minutes after this dump (as always, I scrolled through the option to dump the file at character death), then I made the huge mistake of attempting the Royal Crypt and teleporting in there. Got stuck in two rooms with 4 drujs in the corner, and not enough heals to withstand the mana bolt barrage. Reflection would of course have made this easy. I used up most of my heals attempting Tiamat at 3700', and failing to beat her. If I hadn't have been impatient with the Crypt quest, this guy might have gotten pretty far. Oh well. The endless quest for a victory continues.
