Specifically, Grendel dropped the gauntlets of Thanos on level 24 of angband: resistance to confusion, nether nexus, chaos, and disenchantment, immunity to fire and cold, but also TY curse, pretty huge combat penalties, and aggravation. Is it worth wearing it?

Interesting note: Grendel quest is displayed before Mauhur in the quest log even though I did it later, because I was at a lower level (becuase androids use those wacky construction points).

Get a scroll of *Remove Curse* and you can test it out. I think that you'll lose too much damage with it - and the aggrivate is a nasty addition. I have a pair with random tele as well - I'm not sure if thats a random addition or standard. I think you'll find that the benefits it gives aren't enough to make up for the bad effects.

As for Thanos... I am wearing it, but in modified form =D. I decided that the aggravation was too annoying (and the TY curse frightened me), so I extracted it and just turned it into gloves of slaying.

Next step is to go into a deep dungeon to read the ?oAcquirement.
