Apparently berserkers can't get any mutations that activate? I assumed I'd be able to get that through to get a few useful skills, largely teleport or blink. Sigh. I guess they lumped it in similarly with activating artifacts/items. Anybody else notice this, or verify it?

I'd never played berserker before because I liked magic devices or spells too much, gonna give this a shot.

Regarding general Berserker strategy: Although I've never gotten *that* far with a berserker (Angband dlvl75 or so), I've found Massacre + vampiric weapon(s) to be very useful for staying alive when surrounded. However, the best thing is just to avoid *getting* surrounded... meaning LoS interruption via Earthquake. I just use that whenever I'm in a wide open area.

Oh, and I also try to keep the number of recalls to an absolute minimum, especially on the lower levels you can end up in a world of trouble if you happen recall to just the wrong part of the map.
