Okay, so failure of imagination on the character name, okay? I decided to play Oangband to check out the different combat system and because there's no experience penalty for race/class choices. (The last time I played a Dunadan fighter, I eventually gave up because it took SO LONG for him to level.)

Lotho Pimple gave me a scare, effectively keeping me blind even after the potions I had against it wore out. I fell through three trap doors in a row, and ended up having some VERY scary encounters with skeletonized things and then a flock of Crows of Durthang. Managed to get out of each situation, though.

So far so fun.
