Or your katana - wield it to see if it has anything spectacular like +2 attacks or ESP, if it hasnt, you can safely sell it - it will never be superior to your *thancs.

Nexus is annoying but rarely dangerous. What I normally do is carry a staff of teleportation and use it after I get ported away - usually it will get me back to the general area. Also, that staff is great if you are lacking confusion resitance as it can be activated when confused.

Pblind is a bit hard to get when the helm slot is occupied by telepathy. But why bother, you "see" everything anyway and dont have to cast spells as a warrior.
