Warlocks are fairly versatile. With different pacts you can build melee, archery or even devices. This character forgoes all of that choosing to focus on Eldritch blast instead.

It is also Beruthiel-ready (in theory at least).

+150 hp from undead pact and unyielding (at lvl 50) and 107% hp from Hades. The other demigod trait would be the one that takes 3% off spell failure which would ensure that Empowered EB has a 0% fail rate at max stat/lvl.

No mana worries offset the mediocre damage. It is somewhat liberating, being able to press down the spell macro and just wait until everything in range dies (or hp warning pops up).

After several hours I finally managed to get Cha up back to the previous level raising damage output and lowering fail rate significantly.

All in all, the damage still seems somewhat lackluster. Then again, I'm used to heavy hitters.

But it's no surprise - I knew all the numbers before I started playing. Which is why when I say Beruthiel this and Beruthiel that it's not just for the sake of some remote possibility of making a heavy hitter into an absurdly heavy hitter but rather for making a weak hitter into a heavy one.

Having said that, EB can stun, EB can drain – this covers most monsters, including great wyrms of which Mortimer can probably take on all but the GWoP.

And empowered EB does 1.75 of what normal EB does.

Finally got Cantoras. That was a problematic guy. Hits hard, kind of tanky and undead that summons undead - Mortimer's pact monsters. Four separate attempts were made (over 4 different dungeon visits). Finally he was in a position 1x1 room you could dig into (to limit summoning).

Also, one fear res is fairly risky, so got two now (at the cost of 3 speed).
