I'm fortunate enough to have a weapon with life-drain, which means I can use my blood powers quite liberally. I've also got pretty decent resistance coverage, apart from light. Since I'm in the Glass Castle I really have to keep a look out for the big ethereal dragons ('D') that can breathe light. I don't know if they could one-shot me but I'm still very wary. This is a common theme for this character, she always feels just one step away from death. I doubt I can beat the game with her but I'm aiming for clvl 50 at least.

Having trouble finding new great gear. My weapon is functional but it's going to be obsolete soon. I've found weapons that would be great IF they had life-draining, but they don't, and that's a deal breaker.

I'm having fun with my blood-crazed axe-wielding fairy, though there are several current peeves for me:

Pyaray screwed my stats up on lvl up, so I chugged a potion of New Life. I'm having to spend extra time finding stat potions and clearing dungeons just for the stat boosts to get a decent CON value. On the plus side I got my life rating up to 112/100, previously it had been 96/100.

I've got a lot of nice artifacts in my home, but if I swap anything out for them they all seem to leave big dangerous gaps in my resistances.

I'm finding some of the higher end blood powers only of limited use.

--'Blood Revenge' doesn't seem to do a lot of damage even when I have a Deep Gash (you there, stop sniggering at the back).

--'Blood Feast' hits really hard but it just hurts too much to use. If I had a super high HP race then maybe it would be viable. Probably my own fault for being a Shadow Fairy.

--'Blood Pool' is interesting, creating potions that heal 100HP without curing Berserk, but with a weapon that drains life I can drain 50+ health each round already. 100HP isn't enough to get me out of a really tight spot, and it doesn't seem worth doing in lieu of a round of life-draining attacks. I have used it occasionally in combination with phase door, just to keep in a fight I might otherwise have had to bail with, but it's very situational.

'Blood Rage' and 'Blood Shield' are great though, pretty much standard for any fight.

I really want a better weapon right now though. I know that's what every melee character ever says, but in this case it would make all the difference!

Make sure you kill the breeder walls NW of the entrance hall first, before they get out of control.

I have reached clvl 50 at last. The final power - 'Blood Explosion' - seems underwhelming. 500 damage to all monsters in sight but it hits me for 500 damage too.
