In a normal game I would scum level 99 (or 100 if I have plenty access to Destruction) to look for super items and boost the *healing* supply. That is not going to happen in this game unless someone sneaked in ?AlterReality into the game recently.

Elessar (activates for healing 300 hp) and Tulkas (activates for speed) have been great in helping me save consumables but I also avoid most fights in which I may have to consume something.

Two funny episodes recently, starting with me picking up the ball and chain of Fundin Bluecloak. Not long after that I met the guy himself - I guess he just put it down to wet the dungeon wall or so - so I decided to take a shot at him with his own weapon. I would probably have let him be (hoarding my consumables) but could not resist the temptation. And he went down without any need to quaff or read, so that was all good.

Next when I finally chose to fight a Great Ice Wyrm instead of tele away, it managed to destroy one !speed and one !restoreLife but on death dropped two potions of the same types to compensate! No loss but the fight gave me confirmation that I should not fight ice breathers unless necessary until I (if ever) get cold immunity.

Until now I have used Durin with all resists covered except nether, 1003 hp but only a measly 339 damage per round (dpr) vs Evil. The MoD does 549 dpr vs Evil but I lose rDark and HP are reduced to 856 which feels very low. Eonwe does 417 dpr vs Evil, no rDark and HP at 954. imm cold too.

I will drop 100 lb of kit so I could swap in Tulkas instead of =RoS for more HP but not sure I want to do that. And although I have played the last 25? levels without ESP, I prefer having Vilya in the final fight since I have no rBlind and it is useful to be able to see summons beyond the rubble.

The final fight was not so bad due to very high ac and solid damage output. Consumables did not become a problem as I feared, I spent 2 !ccw, 12 !heal, 8 !*heal*, 1?banish, 1?mass banish, 1?destruct, 2?rune of protection
