Oh, my! A freaking Elder Fire Giant was haunted what had to be one of my best CP takes ever. And I earned it!

I entered the quest with Fairy boots for lev and just 420 hp. Mr. Toasty breathes for 900 so with 50% resist that means ... Hmmm ... Insta-death? Fortunately, I also had Tetsu-geta for a second fire resist, and that proved crucial even though swapping meant I lost levitation. Then, he would take me from a distance and I had nothing to say against that. Had I been thinking clearly, I would have set up a nice ASC route with my barricade and waited for him to approach. So, after 3 !Healing (I only had 4 but did find 1 in the quest), I finally got next to him for a couple turns, and beat his ass down! He blinked, but only landed a couple squares away, so I pursued on foot and finished him off. Man, an Elder Fire giant with just 420hp is no joke!

Actually, now that I am writing this, I realize that Railgun probably saved my life. I didn't realize this at the time as I was panicking big time but I picked up Railgun from the first It clone and quickly put it on (and apparently forgot all about it!). So those big distance damage attacks must have been plasma or boulders. Hmm, no need for my foot gear juggling then and now I feel rather stupid. Ah well, I play too fast I guess ...

After the dust cleared, I also scored Thorin (wish I had that before all those ants exploded) and Thror. So hp when from 420 to 620, which is not bad at all.

Current dump has a -8 speed encumbrance thanks to the 65 corpses in my pack ;)

I could have done The Old Castle by now, but I need my current digger for confusion resist and, up until a minute ago, disenchantment as well. But Bando Musha just showed up and I could probably swap around for confusion resist if I wanted to.

With regard to Bury Dead, there is no need to stand on the burial site to get the bonus. It's just a temp effect and you get more bonuses at higher levels. Also getting lots of uber randart diggers is *not* a class feature: You just got lucky :)

I got the high tier OC reward: Nain! Well, Nain is pretty common so would have dropped sooner or later.
