Long time Hengband and Entroband player who's returned from the *band playing wilderness after some years. Missed the whole Chengband variant and jumping on PosChengband as it looks really good.

Stinger has just got his namesake "Sting" at Chlvl 26. Decided to just play a Hobbit even though Demigods look very powerful and promising as more interested in levelling up quickly and Hobbits give good bang for the buck (I think). May experiment with races a bit more once I get some exposure to this variant.

Nothing too much to report in relation to outstanding events. Up until getting Sting he was using a {Burning} Bastard Sword that the Variant Maintainer kindly dropped as the Angband 12 Quest Monster and that's about it. Took a bit of a punt that Angband 24 Quest Monster would not be Gachapin and thankfully was right as did not have the requisite resistances to pull that off if he was waiting for Stinger.

Will report back later. Might also duck down to Camelot however not sure what to expect there is it's obviously not the Yeek Caves anymore - I've seen posts about the Knights so realise I need res Blind and Res Confusion (Sting has res Confusion so that's good).

We'll see what happens.

As for the Camelot, you'll need *LOTS* of !Speed and ability to harness > 200 damage/attack and HP > 400 to even have any chance against the Camelot Knights. These guys can be very tough for the mid-game characters.

The weird fume swapping STR & DEX previously was not a good thing as the last upgrade to STR on defeating Shelob only granted a .6 base increase from 18/39 to 18/45 which means MAX base will probably be 18/70 or 18/80 - aargh. Being a Hobbit it would've been a lot more manageable to have a low base DEX.

We'll see how we go. Not ready for the Cloning Pits as no res Poison or Chaos which would be a disaster in there. Stealth is Heroic so will be ready soon though (hopefully).
