Took me forever to come up with a worthy character since Hugo$oul 400-something. This deserves an honor because of these notable finds:

2) a Set of Leather Gloves of the Giant (-2,+10) [1,+4] (+3) with +3 STR bonus
3) a Short Sword of Sharpness (4d7) (+4,+10) (+2)
4) a Broad Sword (Pattern) (2d5) (+8,+9) (+2)

That 'Bloodspike' is awesome. When combined with that Set of Leather Gloves of the Giant, my Normal damage is 271 and I'm at only clvl 20!!

Chris, if you're reading this, Frost giants in 3.0.1 are NOT vulnerable to FIRE! Is this a bug?

As for Hugo$oul 491...he's put on hiatus after the stat-swap disaster. Meanwhile, I'm moving forward with Hugo$oul 527 who might be a potential successor to Hugo$oul 424 (the one that died in the Royal Crypt quest). We'll see!

2 hour mark! Damage took another step up after having found a Ring of Combat (+0,+6) (+4) {Dx}...meaning a big +4 DEX bonus! I gave up the Frost giant at clvl 24 in favor of a Stone Troll. Switched to a Water troll at clvl 25, which I'm still using. Now, I'm doing 472 Normal damage at clvl 27. I plan on switching to a Deep one as soon as I get one. I favor the Deep one's extra speed despite even though it will be weaker than the Troll(s). In the meantime, I have some dungeons to explore.

Made it to character lvl 30 at the 3 hour mark, with my Normal damage now at 512!! Switched to the Deep one (starting at clvl 27) and roamed the Anti-magic cave like a madman with +10 Speed. Lots of monsters went going down very quickly, including Scylla, Rogrog, 'Unbegotten Source', etc. with hilarity ensuing! It's weird having both both Stealth bonus + Aggravation on the same item! But, Aggravation means NO Stealth! It is *VERY* unfortunate that these Makers Gauntlets have aggravation. Otherwise, these would have been the perfect replacement for the Set of Leather Gloves of the Giant!!

Oh yeah, I already found the Stone of Lore a long time ago (in the Labyrinth, but before facing the Minotaur of the Labyrinth).

The Deep one was initially weaker than the Water troll form, but was still doing > 400 damage. After wearing this Rusty Chain Mail of the Uruk-hai and getting STR buffs from defeating the 'Unbegotten Source' and reaching clvl 30, my Normal damage soared above 500!

Next stops:
1) Orc Cave
2) Forest - *NEED* Darkness resistance
3) Camelot
4) Angband - up to maybe dlvl 38?
5) More Anti-magic cave

Took a trip into Anti-magic cave 40 and found out that it was a special level. Hmm..ok. Soon enough, I realized that I, as Azog, was not gaining any more EXP. So, I killed a nearby Xorn. Bad choice...I lose access to equipment I want to use. But another problem, monsters are waking and causing mayhem. After a while of running around and hiding in walls, I found a pack of Ice trolls and kill several who left corpses behind. I initially switched to an Ice troll so that I get access to my equipment again. After that, I encountered a group of Aklashes...and killed them, some who also corpses. Then, I switched to the better option, the Aklash. While in Anti-magic 40, there was not one, but several {special} items. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring any source of ID. So, I lugged whatever {excellent} and {special} items I could carry and recalled back to town. Here's what I found:
1) The Pair of Soft Leather Boots of Flora [2,+15] (+5)
2) The Iron Helm 'Holhenneth' [5,+10] (+2)
3) a Hell Harness (+7,+7) [-8] (+2) {cursed, -Sp;Ca} --yeah, -2 Speed penalty
4) The Amulet of Wolf [+7] (+1)
5) a Barbarian Talisman {Fa[M} --Free Action + Anti-Magic
6) other stuff I even remember.

My Normal damage is a little better...147 at dlvl 28, but nowhere as high as Hugo$oul 527's!

On the other hand, my AC is soaring as high as 147, even more with the Shield.

I need more ID scrolls before venturing on.

After getting frustrated with Hugo$oul 1641's demise, I wanted to play another Hugo$oul without starting from scratch. So, I decided to remove the dust off Hugo$oul 527 and directly upgraded from 3.0.1 to 3.3.4. This leaves Hugo$oul 1577 remaining on preservation.

Currently at clvl 31 possessing Botei-Building, the Emperor doing 394 barehanded damage with AC 94, +5 Base Speed, 326 MaxHP, and 124 Mana.

Continuing where I left off...I stayed in the Anti-magic cave for leveling up to clvl 31. Possessing Botei-Building (from clvl 31) was a mistake. He has no resistances. His MaxHP is not impressive at all. I can't reliably use Breathe Shards with my HP only in the 300s. His melee is not nearly as good as I thought. He can't use weapons. Even worse...when I possess him...there are no attacks to "blind" or "stun"...what!!! What a disappointment. I might revert back to the Deep one or switch to the Eldrak soon.

And you know what. I lost patience. I went ahead and took on the Arena and Dragon's lair...and mostly the Dragon's lair to compensate. And Hugo$oul 527 didn't last long in the Dragon's lair.
