Btw, I did some playtesting with 2.0.2. Indeed, you won't be able to Possess significantly higher level corpses vs. your current level. Some of my dead characters (e.g., Hugo$oul 24-26) were not able to possess an Orc Shaman, Giant Red Scorpion, or Killer White Beetle at clvl 1 right away, because I was not "powerful" enough. ok...

So, what are the minimum clvl requirements to possess higher level corpses?

The description for the Possess power lists the max monster level you can currently possess (Lvl 17 at the moment). Large kobolds are only Lvl 5 monsters so you could possess them right from the get go, assuming you could find one.

Once you kill a monster race, the description tells you the level for that particular monster race.

There a plenty of next options for you to choose. Personally, I like something with early speed even if the damage output is not as high.
