All this new talk about Sil made me play a quick character. I got easily sidetracked, and went for a stupid protection score. It's pretty ridiculous. If I block, I have 13-55, with a modest 12-47 when not blocking. My smartest setup is probably the Axe of Nogrod at +18, 4d12, with 10-35 protection, trading in the modest cloak over Drauglin's and no shield. However, I'm not feeling so smart right now.

Gorthaur has never bothered me before, mainly because I usually kill him so fast. I would've been really good with dex *and* and a quickness potion, I think. If I had seen Turkano 1 or 2 rounds earlier I would've buffed up certainly. I suppose Gorthaur is more powerful than Turkano, but as I have never been harmed by Gorthaur before, it didn't seem necessary. I die, I learn!

The Wolf-Hame was crazy dangerous. The added protection was really fun, but when my evasion was at like, 7, I took a lot of damage to critical monsters, like cat warriors. All in all, an unhealthy balance of protection vs. evasion.
