They're a good source of experience, so I suppose their size probably actually makes the game easier, but I'm not sure that's a good reason to keep them.

(I got killed several times by the harpy uniques, but that's a different issue.)

In the case of harpies I believe a big flock is actually more dangerous than a medium-size flock because they are so alert and fast.

I find the harpy uniques deadly but fun.
