Change of plans regarding STR. Armory stocked Gloves of Agility +5 for 19k, and after selling everything of worth, I was at 17k. Monster Arena to the rescue, and I managed to come out with 20k and afford my third blow.

97 damage and 58 AC. Give me another 30 AC, and I'm ready for the Barrow Downs!

I realized I was only getting a puny 9 AC out of Weapon as Shield, so I switched over to Cursed Wounds. Not sure if that helped against the Maulotaur or not, since his health bar was yellow instead of green--so probably not, he didn't regenerate up to his lowered max HP.

Killing Spree is kinda fun, but I have to once again say Splatter is now one of my uber-favorite abilities.

Hm, normally I'd do Cloning Pits at this point. But damage is low: Ringil is 4d5, so Slay Evil is +12, x3 blows = 201 damage per round.

On the other hand, I'll effectively be at +21 speed the whole time. So maybe 6 !oHealing and 5 !oResistance is enough? I do have 550 HP after all...

OK, went into the quest and powered through Gachapins and Dagons and Queen Ants (3 !oHealing used). Found Hammerhand and Golden Crown of Telepathy and Holhenneth... but still no Resistance or Elvenkind Armor! Man, I'm needing to turn my automizer to not destroy armors until CL 40.

Oh, right, I have the Awesome Blow ability too. That nicely covers this dead zone where I'm doing a piddly 150 damage per round. Alas, with Ringil, I'm propelling a piddly 3 squares, so damage is only slightly better than attacking. But once I do Old Castle... yes, there will be Blows.
