In the end she was done in by a software bug. Heavily poisoned by spiders, she sought to cure her ailment by eating un-ID'd mushrooms. Not the smartest thing to do, but she needed room in her pack too. She ate the dreaded mushroom of blindness, which instead of blinding, poisons for ~200 turns. That's more HP than she had left. She rested but her HP's dropped dangerously low, so she consumed one of her three CLW's. Now desperate, and without without healing potions to spare, she tried unknown amulets hoping for regen. Instead she got cursed teleportation, which withheld her from wielding the ESP. The poison soon wore off, allowing her to survive this scrape with death, but the damage was done.

Her spirit broken, she decided to walk back to town. She no longer could afford the luxury of searching for a WoR. She didn't make it far. She was too deep to survive without ESP. Game over, man.

I should update to the latest version, where I know this bug has been fixed, but I don't have a big problem with it. It's kinda cool in it's own way. A killer mushroom for those who are unprepared. I also like the squelched items showing up as debris, which I think has also been removed.
