This was very effective: high stealth plus the bonus for attacking sleeping monsters; and didn't seem too much less effective in melee than a warrior to begin with. Then the sling bonus on top.

I did try stealing once - the response entertained me greatly. Really nice touches like that mean a lot of enjoyment to me.
