The source change to prevent ego's is easy (one liner). I recommend doing that rather than just tossing egos; my fear was that I'd find something desirable like a Blade of Chaos, but be unable to use it because it accidently had an ego. Stopping the generation of egos prevents that problem.

One of the advantages of ESP is that you can use other amulets as swaps for elemental resists. Using "magi for FA means such swaps would cost FA, which probably means not doing them.
