Mineral oil is a byproduct of the distillation of crude oil. It is a petrochemical product and is found in a wide range of personal, beauty and skin care products. Baby oil is mineral oil. Unfortunately there is a range of health concerns linked to the use of mineral oil and personal products.
You may have heard of Material Safety Data Sheets. These sheets list a wide range of information about chemical ingredients including potential health concerns. Examine a Material Safety Data Sheet for mineral oil and you will see that it says that mineral oil is a suspected carcinogen of a number of organs in the body and also can cause irritation to the eyes, skin and lungs.
Why would any anti aging company use mineral oil in it's products where it is a potential health concern? They do so because mineral oil is exceedingly cheap, in fact it is cheaper to buy mineral oil than to dispose of it.
