laptop usage

I just loaded Angband onto my laptop and while I can play it on my desktop I seem to be having some keyboard problems on my laptop..mainly trying to 'dig' rubble out of the way..on my desktop it's no sweat but try and do it on my laptop, I just keep 'spinning' around or the game tells me that there is no 'down' or 'up' staircase there anyone know how to get around this?? thanks...........Oh yeah and one more thing, on my laptop it seems to 'delay' (the game)I ran into some white icks and of course killed them all but when i tried to eat something the game was still going through the battle with the icks for about30 seconds or so until the computer caught up with real time....anyone else have this problem on laptops???

I play exclusively on a laptop and use roguelike keyset to get around the missing keys problem. Never had a problem like that though. Sounds like a keymapping problem though, have you checked them?

I also play exclusively on a laptop, but I use the mouse click to move feature.
