competition + ladder char

I would like to "link" or to combine ladder and competition profiles. Just won Sil the first time with an Edain Hador in the competition - it is the very same char but uploaded twice once for each list.

I suppose if it could be marked as a comp character within the main ladder that would work - otherwise the increased starting xp here would be misleading.

I also wonder about the Christmas present and mpa dumps. It would be nice to have the option to filter them out of the ladder.

mpa-sil has its own version tag, so sorting by variant should get you part of the way there for that (although it seems to be busted when I click on the column title right now).

As for the xmas present dumps -- not sure there's any way to do that one, currently. If it makes you feel better, mpa-sil removed christmas (And easter.)

I guess the real question is "should the ladder be a fair, competitive repository for players of variant X", or "should the ladder be a place where we post all our shit, silly or otherwise". I'm not sure what the original intention was, or how people interpret it now. I'm OK with it the way it is -- e.g. where several of the top winners right now are xmas present winners.

Although, I probably feel that way because the #1 winner is a non-xmas one and the top 5 are all so insane that it's hard not to respect them regardless

Well, yes, I put my competition char on the ladder as well (it says comp in the comment).

I agree that a comp flag would be good, but in this case I wouldn't worry much about the increased starting experience. I imagine the fact that I chose a start that constrained your build options and chose a rather crazy stat distribution approximately makes up for it.

I also agree on the christmas ones. Then again, there are also different versions with some pretty big differences, so we can't get it all completely meaningful.
