In sort of circular development, there's actually a Diablo (1) roguelike out there! I'm guessing a lot of you have seen this already, but in case you haven't:
I just played the first church level and it's hilariously awesome! Balance is a little funny, at least as a warrior, but I think it's on par with difficulty of Level 1 of the original Diablo (that is to say, super easy).
