My childhood best friend died from melanoma at 26.
Not sure how widely known it is outside the UK, but Movember is a charitable movement aimed at raising awareness of men's cancer, and funding to fight cancer generally. Men actually are slightly more likely to contract some form of cancer during their lives than women, and quite a bit less likely to survive it, and much much less likely to understand the facts.
