Does anybody use different style fonts for angband, other than the ones that come with the game? I would like to find some nice full screen fonts to play Ascii style for angband that will show a little bit more area on the screen. I have seen screenshots of people using fonts that are different than what is standardly used. Does anybody know of fonts for windows?

If you want to play in pure ascii mode, any font with 'Mono', 'Console' or 'Typewriter' in its name will do. I'm linux user myself, so I can't tell you much. I can remember that, among the standard Windows fonts, 'Courier New' and 'Andale Mono' are monospase.
The font I use on linux/gcu, Terminus, can be installed on Windows as well. This is how it looks on my notebook: Sangband screenshot.S(1.0.0 final lf3+) W "Dagrin" L:100 DL:4500' A++ *R* Sp+ w:Mace of Disruption (adamant)

I'd like to know how to use other fonts too since on my old computer on which I play DaJAngband sometimes, a lot of the Angband fonts either don't show up at all or they just look pretty bad. Then again, that computer doesn't have a very good monitor, so it might be hard to find a font that looks good. (For some reason, the brightness level on that monitor resets itself to 10% every time I turn it off. It's annoying to have to turn the brightness back up every time I turn it on. But that doesn't have anything to do with Angband fonts, just a gripe.)Will_Asher

Found an easy link to a couple of font files that might work.

Unfortunately, there is no Win32 interface to windows modern font features (everything is C++ or .NET). Someone with time to kill could write a C signature shim interface, but otherwise, don't expect a lot new fonts for windows. Alternatively, there is freetype for MinGW (and cygwin.)Comment
