Save File failure

Went to open my geec2da1 L36 Dwarf Cleric just now and get this error;

-Too many (650) Monster Races
-Savefile is corrupted.
-Failed to load savefile.

Then a window saying "broken savefile"

Haven't had a broken savefile in recent memory, best I can recall not in like 10+ years.
No idea if it is the game or something on my end, just reporting it. Saved and quit the game normally as per usual last night.

edit: now the file isn't even in the directory. hmmm...

I'm not aware of any recent changes to savefile handling (not since Gabe's trap changes shortly after xmas), so I fear that your savefile was genuinely corrupted. I presume you were playing v4, not trying to open a V savefile!

Yup, v4. Only other Roguelike I play is NPP.

Damn, hope my HD isn't going bad...
