Magic Device Skill

I like to make a character type: the TInkerer, to delve into the dungeons. This character is just a mage with the following modifications: The only spells that can be learned are recharge (lvl 10) and greater recharge (lvl 30). Strength penalty is eliminated. Magic Device skill is doubled.

I noticed that after my character achieved approx. lvl. 25, the character sheet stopped displaying the device skill. It is just a blank. However, the character does continue to use devices normally.

I suspect that's because the game is not able to properly look up the color to use to display your device skill. Skill displays use hardcoded coefficients to look up into a table of colors; if (skill * coefficient) > (number of entries in the table) then you'll get an invalid color which apparently is black.
