PCB: How/Why did my pets kill me?

So was playing my first warlock (good fun), but do not understand how I died.

So it says here I was killed when my pet dragons breathed at Ubbo-Sathla, and I was hit by the breath. I have two questions about this:

1 - As you can see in the dump I have the pet option

Allow involve player in area spell: OFF

So they shouldn't have breathed on me right?

2 - Even if breath weapons dont count as area affect spells, as you can see from the minimap at the end of the dump all my my dragons are between me and Ubbo-Sathla (the j), so how did the breath hit me. Isn't breath a directed cone that would have gone away from me?

Ally attacks seem to have gotten a little buggy, not sure if there were combat rewrites that caused it. I hadn't encountered shard breaths doing it but last game my angel pets' starbursts damaged me a lot, and apparently spider jump attacks hurt you too. If you want to try and summon something down, best thing to do is hide out of vision while your pets fight, if you want to hit your target while your pets distract it, maybe tell them to not use attack spells to be safer (until you are higher level/know what hurts you).
