    Looking for a variant with a "trekkie"class

That's right, trekkie, Goodness. You start with a phaser and not much else... I recall it being one of the most unique roguelikes I've played, and it was an angband variant. Please. You recall a variant with a class like or similar to this, please respond with it's name or download or whatever. I truely miss that roguelike.

Dude, you might want to play PosChengband. This is the *ultimate* variant that has huge variety of races/classes to choose from and its gameplay and monster Al are like none other seriously!! You can also join in angband.live and get live tips from other players while you're actively playing PosChengband on the webserver.

My best try at PosChengband 7.0.0's nightmare-mode on Angband.live:

If I'm offline I'm probably in the middle of maintaining Gentoo or something-Linux or other.

PosChengband has a lot of classes, but it definitely doesn't have Trekkies.

Furyband (variant of ToME2) had a Hunter class who was from some technologically advanced society, though I never thought of it as a "Trek" type character.

RocketBand... although you don't exactly start with a phaser.

It was definitely a *band and not something like Zapm?

Not really a roguelike, but there was once the misogynistic game "Aridor Slave Rescue" where one started out with a "Red Shirt" (A member of Star Fleet from the original Star Trek series. Characters wearing a red shirt were of the lowest rank and almost always die. I.e., "That red shirt is going down to the planet with them. I give him three minutes 'till he's dead!"

I believe the game was eventually discontinued by its founder.
“We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see.”

The Theme mod for tome2 had Jedis, but no trekkies.

You're thinking of the Fury mod.

It has a couple different flavors of Jedi. That's the same thing, right?

Nah, the Star Trek and Star Wars universes lost out to Warhammer 40K. The Chaos lords Khorne, Tzeentch, Slaanesh, and Nurgle use lightsabers to pick their teeth after eating one of those stringy Jedi...

                            Trekkies for the Trekkie Throne...

I used to think Forcetrainers were Jedi, until I learned about Dragon Ball.

I don't know what you're talking about or if you've found it by now, but you might want to give ArchiveRL at archive.org a look.

It allows for the downloading of a bunch of *band variants individually, or you can go ahead and download the whole ~25.6 gigabyte rar file like I did. If it's anywhere, it's probably there. (Hopefully.)
