I just read through the documentation for the toolkit and it's only free to use for research institutes and academic purposes so, maybe not. I'll keep looking for one that has a free license; anybody got any pointers?
I did a quick bit of research on devices and found this website: http://gamesalfresco.com/2008/04/16/...e-video-games/
Obviously this is just an overview.
I've got a busy couple of days ahead of me but once that is over I'll try and collate as much reference material as I can and provide some sort of design statement as a basis for discussion.Comment

For a short time scale roguelike, how about Shiren the mysterious wanderer? Surely someone else here has played it.My Chiptune music, made in Famitracker: http://soundcloud.com/patashuComment

Nah, you're not mistaken Bandobras. I read through the documentation and it's only free to use for academic & research institutes. I'll keep on looking for a free platform though. When I get a chance I'll try and get in contact with the company and see what they say, you never know.Comment

It's all really cool, but how will you deal with player death? Monsters? Attacking?
If you like outdoor games, why not go play paintball? Or even better (and more roguelike) play a LARP with some friends?
I'm not criticising, but just giving ideas about how you could realise your roguelike fantasies.www.snowleopard.org - International Snow Leopard TrustComment
