[Angband + all variants] Your usual repertoire?

    As the topic says...

In my case, my PosChengband repertoire involves me playing melee-based Skillmaster characters, pummeling dragons to drive my clvl to 15-20 or so in record time, leveling up to clvl ~25 by the 1 hour mark, and taking on the Arena dungeon as early as possible...before the 2 hour mark in many cases! ...and of course, because of this many characters (of mine) end up dead soon after....Rinse repeat...!

If I'm offline I'm probably in the middle of maintaining Gentoo or something-Linux or other.

For about every variant (but mostly for pcb nowadays):
    - check if shops have decent selling limits, restart till they do (this can take ~10 mins on average),
    - get identification/illumination/trap-detection/elemental resistances/monster detection,
    - toughen up enough to kill fodder/dragons (killing Gachapin used to be a big deal at this stage, not anymore),
    - kill dragons until double rDis (Lonely Mountain) + some speed + enough hp/resists to survive dracoliches/-lisks,
    - die to overconfidence/suicide because of a failed quest,
    - ????
    - abandon due to boredom/win.

You'll probably see this ongoing pattern from me nowadays:
Melee-based Ares parentage Skillmasters with my aforementioned routine for THESE reasons:
[1] I am guaranteed to get Ares' Helm, though I want it ASAP, [2] which lets me eventually ultimately do >2000 melee damage on a regular basis

But #1 is good enough for me and my playstyle anyways.

In the upcoming weeks, I might not have all that much free time anymore due to RL stuff. So with the time I have now, once I get Ares' Helm (doable within < 1 week), that's good enough for me to put PosChengband away in the shelf when that time comes....even if I don't actually win the game!

[For the record, I beat PosChengband only once after 8356 Possessors and won it with the 8356th one!!]

Surely the Ares' Helm aggravation is bad enough...but that won't stop me from polymorphing myself back to the necessary Tonberry form to get what I want.

I'll actually have to play with the Ares' Helm (when I get it) to justify myself.

^This isn't an April Fools' joke. I'm deciding on ways to make my playstyle more fun than it already is

              Zangband since v1.6

I started on this game over 20 years ago in the dos days. The variety of quests, monsters, uniques and difficulty still inspire today

Poschengband, love the variety in characters.
Stronhold, orc cave, angband to around DL25, town quests (to lev 25), then die with CL 25-35 n angband. If I get to CL late 20s justdive Labrynth and Shelob because I find those levels really annoying.

Only twice have got to stage to take on Gants cave, Lonely mountain, and the place in the east with the curtains.

Always play with randarts only, otherwise always seemed to have same kit.

Loved the random world, dungeons, towns, quests of Zangband. My ideal variant would be poschengband (for classes etc) in the Zangband world for random. Each game would feel less repeditive then.
