Furyband: Help with failed god quest

So, I am in the lost temple looking for a piece of a lost relic for Eru, but I missed it on the level and he tells me I've failed and he'll never give me another task. So, I'm bummed, but I end up finding the relic piece anyway. Is there a way to get him to take it and forgive me?

Unless there have been modifications to the gods relative to the "original" ToME 2.x, then... no.

I don't know if they're in Fury, but the very rare Staves of Wishing have the power to retrieve you the lost relic piece, but as they have so much more potential, it's probably a waste for the reward the God quests offer.

Hm, or was it only possible if the God in question had not found out that you missed the quest?

          That is correct.

AIUI, if you enter the temple and then immediately wish for a relic piece for your god, then you can auto-complete the quest. But if you leave a level that has the relic piece on it, then you're sunk.

All you're missing out on is some ranks in Prayer, though, which is nice but not remotely a dealbreaker for most characters. To be honest, when I played ToME I usually ignored the god quests, just because they were too much hassle for the reward.

High level Eru casting is equivalent to perma-loss for artifacts, so it isn't really desirable unless you are way overpowered anyway.
