How do I heal my friest in Mangband 1.1.2?

My brother and I have setup a mangband 1.1.2 server and are playing together as a duo, he's a warrior and I'm a priest.

I have extensive macros set up, but when I try to set up a macro to heal him, it casts the heal but not on him (I think it casts it on me).

I inscribed "Chants and Blessings" with @p3@b3@G3!d!k!v

This is the macro I used:

    \e(p3c

The ( should target him, and in fact it does tell me his life total when I use the macro, but he doesn't get the heal. What am I doing wrong?

To use a targeted healing spell on someone, you need to use capital letter: \e(p3C

Thank you so much for the quick response. I'll test that out first thing when I get home tonight.

Thank you PowerWyrm, you totally rock. Your fix worked perfectly.

My brother is trying to build your server code on his linux server, and he's a bit stuck because you only set things up to build on Windows. How easy is it for us to reconfigure to build on linux?

It's a big deal because you have to re-import all the OS level interface in z-util.c and elsewhere. And you need to update .h files, along with autoconfigure junk and/or makefile. Fortunately, you can probably do most of it by copying the z-*.c from Vanilla, and grep for #if.* in the rest of the source.

You'll probably have to get the MAngband 1.1.2 code and plug back all conditional compilation #defines. Note that I didn't port the Linux clients (main-x11 and such), so they would probably not work at all with PWMAngband. At this point, a working client would probably be a mix of current V client and MAngband client.
