It kind of is but you still have to run Linux separately. I'm not really familiar with linux but I know C and C++ well enough to tinker.

The reason I asked is it looks like you can compile it yourself
The advantage of using a POSIX based mobile OS is that you can run and install any Linux applications on your mobile (smartphone) with ease. And thanks to Open Source, its even easier to Compile, ... Read more

This requires me to literally hack my phone and run a lot of apps.

          Anything simpler?

how to compile in win7 using cygwin?I still don't know how it works.
            1 download cygwin and i686-w64-mingw32-gcc
2 run the Cygwin64 Terminal type
            Code:
            ./configure --host=i686-w64-mingw32
            3 make
            Code:
            $ MINGW=yes make
            LINK zangband
            src/angband.res: file not recognized
4 copy the angband.res from the one I tried to compile many times and not sure how it succeeded.
5 make again and it passes.

              Did the compile succeed?

I started on this game over 20 years ago in the dos days. The variety of quests, monsters, uniques and difficulty still inspire today
              Z+ANGBAND

Since the beginning I've been a Ranger suiting my personality from D&D V3.
Also Chaos/Nature magic was always a nice balance and EXP Gains.

I wanted to offer this further development of ZANGBAND+ Z+ANGBAND
Z+Angband is a further development of the popular ZAngband variant, with random wilderness, quests of multiple types, a flexible spell system, and some of the features that have become popular in more recent variants.

              Z+Angband 0.3.3 = Announcement, December 25, 2010

I contacted Mangojuice last week to ask about the source code to edit a few more quests, new ending with the angband sound pack + midi music for a competition I have in mind.. - KnightsQuest
Anyone interested in the dev or offering suggestions??

Keep on adventuring all! Angband forever!

I also kinda feel that way too...
Just doesn't have the spark the way I did when I play Zangband in the old days...

I really like the random world map of Zangband. Every game a new place to start from and a new world to explore. I think that's a lot more fun than starting from the same place in the same world each time, like tome2 and unangband.

However, I also like those unangband dungeons that are surprising even from the first level. If angband variant features were modular, I'd combine the Zangband random world and wilderness with the Unangband dungeons, like an UnZangband
