Does the bridge of stone spell do anything? I didn't see anything in the changelog about it.
I seem to remember it was fixed already for beta or something? And the fix confirmed here on the forum just after the bug report?

Somehow the game thought that those objects disappeared because they show up as "A stack of two objects", rather than the individual objects. They weren't hiding in terrain, they were hiding under each other!
Wow, that's the kind of emergent game behaviour I don't quite like. Reported on Berlios.
The link has one 'l' missing. Not enough spelling level ups, I see.
Whoops, my bad. At least you figured it out.
Are you sure it's for the objects of the last level, not of the next level? My understanding is, the new objects are generated and they hide in terrain. This should still not be visible to the player and is, I think, already reported on Berlios.
Ah ha, I see the problem: yes, it was for objects on the next level. Yes, this seems to be a dungeon generation bug (at least when the levels are even smaller and packed with monsters --- this is even more cruel than the optional one-screen levels of TOME). It's already reported, but thanks for the savefile.
Hi all, I've fought some mountain orcs in nice spring forests and fled form the rest to get back to fixing stuff!

Thank you for the report. I've just returned and I won't have time to move all the bug reports from the forum to Berlios. So, either move them yourself or add a meta-bug report with a link to this forum topic.
I will now start commenting, in reverse chronological order, on the bugs I can't reproduce, need more information about or those I fix while reading. The bug reports or feature requests I ignore are those I judge as reasonable, but won't fix immediately.

Something is very wrong here, because I have 'sweet' and 'hear' spelled correctly. And 'perils'. Could you please check it out in your lib/edit/dungeon.txt file and then remove everything in /lib/data/ and check again in-game?

Fixed, thank you. However, can it be said even better? Without the 'something' (after 'sometimes')?

I guess the assumption is, the to_hit and to_dam powers are apparent from the '(+4, +13)' part of the name. You know, the ring has no ego powers at all. It just has pluses, like, say a good dagger, which does not have any special description about the pluses, either.

Fixed both.

Indeed. The scroll fits the bag that holds powerful scrolls.

As Rizwan says. Seriously, this must be a problem with easy_more messages overwriting previous messages. And so this is already reported.

Also, could someone explain to me how runes work?
Runes are magical, so even I don't know everything.

I see that my equipment has runes like "2 waves" or "3 dwarvens" on it. What do these mean?
Probably that the ego equipment could be recreated form plain equipment of the same kind by applying the runes the given number of times (but pval and other stats would most probably be different).

Nothing. It just informs you how you can recreate the thing. Also, if another ego can be obtained by 4 dwarven, you only need to apply 2 dwarven to get there. The blindness resistance is only granted if the runes didn't manage to change ego kind (or rod kind or ring kind, etc., respectively) of the item. In that case, the only effect of the runes is the one from runes.txt, untill you amass enough of them to execute the change, if possible.
Also, could someone explain to me how runes work? I thought that I had figured most of it out until I found some scrolls of runic magic - I see that my equipment has runes like "2 waves" or "3 dwarvens" on it. What do these mean? You can apply runes to equipment. For things like scrolls or potions, it changes the effect. Adding more runes makes the effect more powerful. For example, there is one moon rune on a scroll of summon undead, and adding more changes it to dispel undead.
It's a similar thing for equipment, except it requires more runes. You can make very nice ego equipment in this way, or powerful staves/wands etc.
Experimenting by adding more runes would probably be pretty hard, but I made an almost complete list of recipes by using the spell of runic magic in my winning character. Or you could cheat and sneak a peak at the code.
Bug: I was (cheating death and) fighting Smaug: he dropped two bags when I killed him. Both bags dropped in the same square because there was enough other junk around for things to start double stacking. I walk over the square with the bags and auto-pick them up because I was carrying something in my inventory that matched the two bags. After picking up the two bags, there was an object left on the ground: a white ampersand: the name of the object was "nothing" - and that seemed to be what it was - a nothing object. Reported on berlios.

'Swet' should be 'sweet' and for the awkward end, maybe something like 'you can sometimes faintly hear something like a captivating music.'
Kheled-Zaram at the east Moria entrance - at the end, the description says "you expect deadlier erils soon." Should say deadlier 'perils'.
Ring of Slaying - description gives throwing info only - this one wasn't an ego item and had no hidden powers.
Gloves of Power - description says "It may causes its wielder to see invisible monters." Should be 'cause' and 'monsters'.

Thanks for all the tips Anne.

I'm afraid I haven't investigated rune stones much at all, so I can't offer any explanation. But I know there's some bug related to at least one type of rune stone, so it's always possible that this is indicative of another bug. Bandobras could probably tell us when he returns from fighting those forest orcs... or whatever he's doing on that mountain.

I've tried it with other stairs but it doesn't happen there. REPORTED
