Question re: new variants to the ladder

I've tried to submit MAngband mortems twice now, both times I got a message telling me it was an unknown variant.

IronMAng has a ladder, so why not MAngband?

How do I request a ladder for that variant? Is there some specific adjustment that needs to be made to the mortem files to make them readable? Is that something I need to take up with the MAngband devs?
