NPP Angband spell descriptions?

not sure if this is a bug new to 6, but playing the comp now, and browsing the spellbooks all spells give the acid bolt descriptions. As many of these spells are not Vanilla, I'm curious if there's someplace I can find all the descriptions. Help?

I can't duplicate this bug. It all looks like it should on my build. What version are you using? Are you scrolling through the spells in the spellbook (using direction keys)?

The only bug I have seen so far is, when a player is casting a spell and doesn't have enough mana, the noun and verb are reversed ("Are you sure you want to incantation this cast?").

Okay, it's probably working as intended. When I scroll over spells I have cast, it gives a description, and no description if unlearned/not yet cast. Only when I browse a spellbook that I've not yet cast anything from do I get the Acid Bolt description.


Hmm... now that I rebooted and tried again, it doesn't reproduce the effect for me either. I'm sure this was happening before, not sure why not now. Either way, doesn't seem like a bug, and if I really want to know what spells like Extinguish and Clear Area do, I can learn them and cast them then browse. I was mainly concerned because I don't have enough WIS+INT to learn all the spells I'm able to learn, and so wanted to know ahead of time what spells would be most valuable. But even that will soon become a non-issue, so... don't worry about it.

To know what the spell does, I recommend looking at do_druid_incation in x-spell.c. Most of the code should be self-explanatory.

Maybe in the age of transparency in gaming, this shouldn't be hidden anymore.
