    Sangband Store Investments

How much money do I need to invest in a store to get better stock? And which stores should a mage-ish character invest in?

I would really like to raise my statistics, but I'm not sure if there's any items like "Scroll of Raise Strength". I would invest in the magic book store later on, but I'm not sure if that would make higher level books available.

Other than that, I mostly want magic trinkets to use.

I think it is at least tens of thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands. And magi should invest in the magic shop, I'd have thought. Also the book shop, if you struggle to find the dungeon books.

Yes, it would. And for stat boosts you should invest in the alchemist ...

Thanks. That's just what I needed.

I'm nowhere near tens of thousands of gold yet, but I'll get there.

Store investment is there to soak up excess gold. If you don't have excess gold, don't worry about it yet.

The smallest meaningful amount is in the vicinity of a thousand gold, but more like tens of thousands to see meaningful improvement.

Total investment both improves the rate of seeing improved items as well as their depth.

That's what I'm looking for. It's getting to where I just buy identify scrolls. There's not that much useful stuff to buy.

It might be partly that I'm not descending into the dungeon fast enough if maximum depth influences store inventory. The last few dungeon levels have been pretty much a breeze, which tells me I'm not low enough. I've spent alot of time grinding.
