    [NPP] Equipment dilemma

    I was feeling pretty good about my equipment, but then I got down to level 43 and ran into the biggest vault I've ever seen -- it was was like a huge satanic spreadsheet where each cell said something like 'UMD' or 'DDWUQ'. After clearing maybe a quarter of it, I ended up with about 6 new artifacts and a wheelbarrow full of ego, and now I'm unsure of what to use. It does not make sense to replace any one thing by itself; but if I replace many things together, it starts to look compelling. At bottom, I've built up a new equipment profile, and I'm looking for reactions, because I'm too new to be sure of what's important to gain and acceptable to lose. Sadly, the dealers aren't giving more than 10K per item today.

    Here's the (slightly condensed) dump:

    Here's what I'm thinking of switching to ...

    Weapon: Sting;
    Rings: Con+6, Barahir;
    Amulet: Weaponmastery
    Armor: Isildur (unchanged)
    Cloak of the Magi (for the telepathy)
    Shield of Preservation
    Crown of Lordliness
    Gloves of Thievery
    Boots of Thror

    PRO:
    All stats now sustained, most increased, but Con decreased by 2
    Gain Lite
    Gain Nether
    Gain Disen (twice)

    CON:
    Lose acid immunity (but keep a resistance)
    Decrease from 3 Nexus to 1
    Lose Chaos
    Speed from +7 to +5

    All suggestions welcome. This is the deepest I've ever been, and I want to make the most of it. Thanks in advance!

    Bonus question: can rods be destroyed by anything other than electricity?

    Why would you want to change to Lordliness? That gives you nothing. Keep the helm and cloak as they are. Forget Nether, Chaos is more important, so keep Thorin. This should give you max cons with Barahir alone (if not buy cons potions...). Wear the biggest +dam or ofCombot ring you can find on the other finger.

      My thinking was that it does more than the helm of telepathy, telepathy being available elsewhere. The question is moot because your solution is better. (I didn't know about Chaos and Nether.) The lesson here has to be that more pluses on the character screen is not necessarily better. Also I have never before maxed my Con, so I wasn't thinking about that. Thanks for the tips.
